Berry Patch Farms | Brighton, CO
Autumn is one of my favorite times of year. After a fast-paced summer filled with traveling + one too many cocktails, it feels great to have a reset + come back to a slower way of life. One of the things on my autumn checklist was to visit a working farm. We decided on Berry Patch Farms in Brighton, Colorado. Only a short drive from the city, we were enchanted by this beautiful farm.
As you pull in, you can’t miss the gorgeous red barnhouse. Sunflowers, a pile of pumpkins + a scarecrow welcome you in as you walk inside.
The market inside is filled with fresh, local + organic produce along with other goodies like honey + baked goods. We reached for a slice of pumpkin bread to ease our hunger + I think it was the best pumpkin bread I ever had!
The smell of fire roasted peppers fill the barn store + I couldn’t resist purchasing a bag of them on my way out. My mom use to make chili rellenos when I was younger so they’re very nostalgic to me. Funny enough, next to the basket of peppers was a recipe card for a yummy chili relleno casserole . So I plan on making that this week!
As you walk out the back doors of the barnhouse, a lovely berry stand awaits where you can pick-your-own berries + flowers. Although we were told that many of the berries had been picked over already, we accepted the challenge + lucky for us we were still able to score a lot of berries. It was such a nice experience to share with Brady. We’d get so excited when we’d find a lush bush filled with berries, just like a couple of little kids. It allowed us to really slow down + be present.
Berry Patch Farms is a tradition I’d love to keep doing every autumn from now on. Next time, we’ll probably try to go a little earlier in the season so we can get the most out of the farm! I highly recommend doing this if you live in Denver or if you’re visiting from out of town in the fall.
Berry Patch Farms will remain open in October on Tuesday + Thursdays from 10-2pm. Saturdays 10-4pm.
And for the kiddos, they have hay rides, a straw maze, a scavenger hunt, + pumpkin picking every Saturday in October for only $2. Pumpkins ranging from $3-7.
